Artists

La Moraleja

DJ and Dance Journey Curator

Hailing from the vibrant Dominican Republic, La Moraleja is not just a DJ but a storyteller through music. Captivated by the transformative power of community dance, La Moraleja discovered the profound ability to create spaces for connection and emotional release.

La Moraleja crafts immersive dance journeys that reflect the intricate landscapes of our inner worlds. Each set is a carefully woven narrative, inviting participants to explore the mythical aspects of their being, embracing devotion, ecstatic release, and the shadowy realms of connection. La Moraleja’s music is an invitation to step into a vulnerable space where hidden emotions can surface and find expression, turning every dance floor into a sanctuary for the soul.

Natalie Parsons

Kirtan Artist and Community Connector

Natalie Parsons has been a beacon of the Kirtan community since 2014, sharing the ancient yogic practice with heart and soul. Kirtan, an age-old tradition, involves chanting mantras and producing sound through the heart space, fostering a deep connection to our inner selves and to one another.

Natalie believes in the transformative power of sharing our voices, creating a communal space where everyone can connect and heal. The practice of Kirtan is not about how we sound; it is about the intention behind the mantra, allowing it to flow through and within us. The musical instruments used during Kirtan serve as beautiful guides, leading participants into a deep meditative state.

No prior experience is necessary to join Natalie’s Kirtan sessions. Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or a newcomer, the essence of Kirtan lies in the communal experience and the feelings it invokes. Natalie invites everyone to join her in this sacred practice, to share their voices, and to connect with their inner space through the power of mantra and sound.

COME AS YOU ARE. DANCE AS YOU PLEASE.

DANCE HOW YOU WANT. NO JUDGEMENT.

HOW IT WORKS

We open into a wide circle and do some light stretching which then transitions into a freeform dance journey facilitated by our guest DJ's and performers. At the end of the set we close with some sound healing or group exercise to ground and complete the experience.

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE DANCE FLOOR?

People of all walks of life, shapes and sizes are welcome to dance however they please. We ask that all honour the shared space and one another: This means being mindful of your own movements and also being aware of the people around you. Refrain from touching or invading others' personal space without their permission. Consent must be given

No talking: To allow for a fully immersive and meditative experience, ecstatic dance events typically have a no-talking policy on the dance floor. You're welcome to chat and socialize in other areas of the venue, but keep the dance floor as a sacred space for movement and expression.

No shoes: Many ecstatic dance events ask that you dance barefoot or wear non-slip socks to create a more grounded and natural experience.

No drugs or alcohol: Ecstatic dance is meant to be a drug-free and alcohol-free environment, allowing you to connect with your body and mind in a more natural way.

Move in your own way: There's no right or wrong way to move in ecstatic dance, so feel free to express yourself however you feel. Dance with abandon and let go of any self-consciousness or judgment.

Stay present/ No phone on the dance floor: Try to stay focused on the present moment and the music, rather than getting lost in your thoughts or worries. Allow the music to guide your movements and emotions.
